Electric vehicles (eV) will come to dominate the market in the next 10 years as they become the only option available due to market trends and governments regulation:

  • Sales of combustion engine vehicles will end in China, India, and EU by 2030, with some manufacturers phasing them out by 2026 (VW)
  • eVs are a game changer in the mobility market for their impacts but also on the way vehicles are used, owned or shared. Individuals and corporations want or are compelled to migrate to eVs
  • The current availability of eVs, their upfront costs and the creation of a distributed infrastructure to charge them are major constraints

Smartphones are the gateway to access electric mobility resources, and organise electric vehicles and chargers in a web of services controlled by users. Everything is centred around users and their mobility needs – all suppliers of mobility services (vehicles, energy) are directed by user needs, habits and desires.

Charging is available anywhere, anytime – today with a charger and a cable, and wireless in a few years time. Energy can be exchanged among peers, with everyone being able to use someone else’s charger or charging network. Range (km or miles) and not electricity will be the currency of this exchange. E-vehicles are available on demand. Pricing is set by demand.
